Audemars Piguet Perpetual Calendar Setting and Winding Box
Earlier this year, Audemars Piguet debuted a Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar with a new Caliber 7138 movement that enables setting of the traditionally complex watch via an "all-in-one" crown. Now they've created a box that takes it one step further, winding and setting the watch automatically. Co-developed with Dubai Future Labs, it uses a camera and AI to figure out what needs adjusting, then uses robotics to make the necessary changes, with a Bluetooth connection providing updates to a companion app. The box is currently in the prototype phase, but the company plans to bring it to market soon.
