Beta Technologies Alia eVTOL Aircraft
Inspired by the wings of the Arctic tern — the longest-migrating bird in the world — the Alia from Beta Technologies looks to maximize efficiency. The craft uses four upward-facing rotors for liftoff and a single rear-facing propeller for forward motion. It has wide, arching wings and twin tails, much like the tern, a combo the company hopes will allow it to travel up to 250 miles on a single charge of its batteries. A company developing man-made organs for transplant is the main client for now; however, Beta hopes to expand into other categories as its technology develops.
