Black 3.0 Acrylic Paint
It's not technically as black as Vantablack, but your eyes may not be able to tell the difference. The latest salvo in an ongoing feud between British artists Stuart Semple and Anish Kapoor, Black 3.0 Acrylic Paint is claiming to be the "flattest, mattest, black acrylic paint in the world," and unlike Vantablack, which Kapoor holds exclusive rights to, it's available to everyone — except for Kapoor. It absorbs between 98 and 99 percent of visible light, compared to Vantablack's 99.6 percent absorption across the visible, UV and infrared spectrums, and unlike Vantablack, it can be touched and handled just like regular acrylic paint. While the winner of Semple and Kapoor's feud has yet to be settled, the real winners are artists worldwide.
