Bobcat T7X Electric Loader
Electric heavy equipment isn't new, but Bobcat's recently revealed T7X loader is billed as the world's first fully-electric loader of its type. The T7X doesn't just use electric propulsion — it also uses electric actuators instead of a hydraulic system to operate implements. This means the T7X only needs one quart of coolant instead of up to 57 gallons of hydraulic fluid used by conventional models. Bobcat rates battery life at up to four hours of continuous use, made possible by a load-sensing controller that uses only as much torque as required for the current load. Another selling point is decreased maintenance and fuel costs, the ability to run in confined spaces with no emissions, and job-specific operator programming. The T7X will be available for rental later in 2022 through a joint partnership with Sunbelt Rentals.
