Bowers & Wilkins 801 D4 Signature Speaker
Bowers & Wilkins' 801 D4 is used as a reference in many high-level studios, including Abbey Road. Now it's getting a sonic and aesthetic upgrade with the Signature Series. The new flagship adds twin 10" Aerofoil Cone subwoofers with improved motors and a cast aluminum port to the already-capable Diamond Dome tweeter and Continuum Cone FST midrange driver of the standard model. Below the Turbine Head midrange enclosure, the aluminum top plate is also improved, with an optimized skeletal structure and carefully placed damping material to minimize resonance. The 801 D4 Signature comes in two exclusive finishes: Midnight Blue Metallic paint, the same as used on the iconic Nautilus, with bespoke blue Connolly leather trim, and California Burl Gloss wood veneer with black Connolly leather trim. It's joined in the series by the 805 D4 Signature, which offers similarly stringent performance standards in a smaller bookshelf-like package.
