Canon CE-SAT-1 Satellite Microsite
Canon is taking one giant leap for photography with its latest innovation. The interactive microsite will allow users to take their own snapshots of Earth from the CE-SAT-1 in space. Launched back in 2017, the wine barrel-sized satellite is equipped with an EOS 5D Mark III DSLR with a 40cm Cassegrain-type 3720mm telescope, and with a 375 miles orbit, it can produce 36-inch ground resolution inside a 3×2 mile frame. There's also a PowerShot S110 for wider angles. The experience is guided by astronaut Marsha Ivins, giving details about the satellite's design and construction, while helping visitors grab and save photos of the pre-selected locations.
