Casa Vega
Founded by Rafael "Ray" Vega — his parents founders of Cafe Caliente — Casa Vega has been serving up some of the San Fernando Valley's best Mexican food and drinks since 1956. This rich tradition is being honored this year with an America's Classics Award from the James Beard Foundation. In addition to the delicious fare, the restaurant's time-capsule interior, including the tufted red leather booths, has played host to countless celebrities, notably making a boozy appearance in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Now run by Rafael's daughter Christina "Christy" Vega, it's a must-visit stop for locals and out-of-towners alike.
