Chateau de Lagarde

A castle for free? Yup, a castle for free. Dating back to the 11th century, Chateau de Lagarde — nicknamed the "Little Versailles of the Pyrenees" — is located in Ariège, near Andorra, and is listed as a historic monument. It has also fallen into disrepair, to the point that's in danger of collapsing. As a result, it's been closed to the public, and neither the current owners nor the group that takes care of it have the funds to fix it. Now they're offering it up for free to anyone willing to take on the necessary repairs to ensure it remains standing, an undertaking that could cost millions.
