Conrad Buff II House
Situated on a hillside above the Annandale Golf Club, the Conrad Buff II House is a historically notable mid-century gem. It was designed in 1955 for Conrad Buff II, the father of the firm Buff & Hensman FAIA's co-founder. After serving as the firm's HQ for a while, the four-bedroom, three-bath home underwent a down-to-the-studs renovation and expansion, led by Dennis Smith, partner and architect of Buff, Smith & Hensman. It received a Pasadena Historic Preservation Award in 2018 for its blend of original post-and-beam structure and modern amenities, and its ample outdoor space is surrounded by landscaping designed by Ivette Soler.
