Dusk Electrochromic Smart Sunglasses
Electrochromic glass has been used in high-end houses and offices for some time. Ampere is putting it to personal use with Dusk sunglasses. Based on a timeless Wayfarer design, they connect with a companion app for control over the tint of their polarized lenses, going from 35% to 3% with the swipe of a finger. They're also IP65 waterproof and have onboard tactile controls for adjusting the tint without a phone. The standard model also includes open ear audio for music and a built-in mic for calls and voice assistants; a non-audio Lite version will also be available, and both are compatible with the optional protective charging case. Ampere expects shipments to begin in August.
