Floht Haus
Located on Bowen Island, which is west of Vancouver in the Howe Sound, the Floht Haus features a lengthy cantilever - among the longest in Canada, for that matter — jutting out over the cliffs leading down to the water. The 3,000 square foot, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom modernist residence was built in 2023 and features panoramic ocean and mountain views from nearly every part of the house, bridging the gap between the inside and outside worlds. Sliding floor-to-ceiling windows add to the effect, bringing ocean air inside, and giving owners an interrupted view of the landscape surrounding the natural Ashlar slate and dark-stained cedar-clad estate. Minimalism is the motto here, from the aforementioned exterior theme to the clean, simple lines inside and the hidden surround sound speaker system and glass-bound indoor-outdoor terrace.
