F.P. Journe Chronometre a Resonance 20th Anniversary Watch

The idea of resonance is rather simple: two oscillators, placed in close proximity and with the same natural frequency, will begin to beat in sync and tend to correct each other. This idea has been proven many times over, yet building a resonance watch remains an incredibly difficult undertaking. F.P. Journe is one of very few watchmakers to attempt it, and their new Chronomètre à Résonance celebrates 20 years of the technically complex. Its new rose gold movement, dubbed the caliber 1520, uses a single mainspring barrel and a differential to direct power to the dual trains via a one-second remontoir d'egalité. The differential is visible through the dial, which has a double time display, indicating 24 and 12 hours, two small seconds dials, and a power reserve indicator. It's available in platinum or rose gold, with either a 40 or 42mm case.
