G-Shock Dream Project #2 G-D001 Watch
For its 40th anniversary, G-Shock is revisiting its solid gold Dream Project with the help of artificial intelligence. The unusual case of Dream Project #2 G-D001 was partly developed with a custom AI system trained on forty years of G-Shock data, resulting in a design that cuts weight while boosting shock absorption. The 18k yellow gold build is crafted using a lost-wax casting process normally used by jewelry makers, then hand-polished for maximum sheen. A solar-powered quartz movement can be seen through the openworked dial, with solar cells on the outer ring, subdials for dual time and elapsed time, a date window at 6 o'clock, and a Multi-Band 6 system to keep accurate time via atomic radio towers. A true one-off, it arrives in a special display box and is up for auction with proceeds going to benefit environmental nonprofit The Nature Conservancy.
