Heart Aerospace ES-30 Hybrid Aircraft
Swedish aerospace company Heart Aerospace is set to launch its hybrid-electric regional airplane in 2028. The ES-80 seats up to 30 and uses two electric motors at the inboard stations and two standard turboprops at the outboard positions on each wing. Running on the electric motors, the ES-80 has an estimated 124 miles of range, and 249 miles on all four engines. Charge time is 30 minutes. Using all four engines also give the ES-80 good short-field performance, a plus in its role operating out of smaller regional airports. Heart Aerospace recently opened a development center in Los Angeles, with a flyable prototype planned for next year.
