Helm Personal Email Server
Even the largest companies can be hacked: just ask Google and Facebook. The Helm Personal Email Server wants to keep your email, calendar, and contacts more secure by hosting them at your own home. The A-shaped server plugs in near your router and connects to Helm's service to get a static IP address. You access your data via commonly used protocols from the apps of your choice, and all your data stays on the device. In addition to the above, the company plans on adding Dropbox-like file sharing and syncing, VPN, and chat/messaging services in the future, meaning it will only become more valuable — and replace more of your potentially vulnerable web-based services — over time.
