Hermès So Black Matte Alligator Birkin Bag
Legend holds that when Hermès chief executive Jean-Louis Dumas was seated near French actress Jane Birkin on a train in the early '80s, her bag spilled, and she mentioned a bag that was big enough to hold all her goods. Thus the Birkin Bag was born. Increasingly sought-after, even as the price rose, it's become a fashion icon. This version was created with arches that echo the Maison's flagship store in Paris, crafted in bright orange leather on top of a mix of black matte alligator, black madame, and black sombrero leathers. The interior is finished in Black Chevre leather, with a slip pocket, while the exterior has two rolled top handles, a flap top, a turn lock closure, and black PVD hardware.
