Hot Wheels: Rift Rally
The team that developed Mario Kart Live is bringing a similar mix-reality experience to Hot Wheels fans with Hot Wheels: Rift Rally. An R/C car combines with an iPhone, iPad, or PlayStation-connected TV screen to overlay the room with the game world. The 1080p camera on the car doesn't capture the car itself, allowing developer Velan Studios to render jumps, explosions, and a myriad of other effects without the real car leaving the ground. Four gates need to be set up and driven through to give the game a "map" of the area, and then it's using a Paystation 4/5 or iPhone to get started. Hot Wheels: Rift Rally is available now.
