Hotel Chelsea Doors
Known for a long list of famous residents that includes Hendrix, Kubrick, and Warhol, the Hotel Chelsea in New York is one of the most iconic locations in the city. During the current renovation, a homeless man came across these discarded wooden doors while searching for shelter. Guernsey's auction house is selling 55 of the original doors that they claim can be traced back to some of the icons who once lived behind them. And the man who found the doors, no longer homeless, as cosigner has requested that a portion of the auction proceeds to a charity that helps feed the hungry in New York.
