Hotel Magdalena

For their latest offering, Bunkhouse has delivered an 89-room hotel steeped in Austin history. Its four timber-clad buildings are placed and varying heights referencing the slopes of Barton Springs while elevated walkways create a treehouse vibe. The interior also pays homage to the city's spring-fed pool with a laid-back combination of warm wood tones and retro '70s styling. An on-site restaurant, Summer House on Music Lane, adds to the ethos with a menu of elevated lake-house fare and a live-fire grill. Since no weekend at the springs would be complete without a dip in the water, the property boasts its own 900 square-foot swimming pool and accompanying bar.
