Hyundai x Uber Elevate S-A1 Aircraft
Building on Uber's open design process to become Uber Elevate's first automotive partner, Hyundai unveiled the S-A1 Aircraft at the 2020 CES. The S-A1 is an electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle capable of carrying four passengers, plus a pilot until ready for autonomous service. It will have a cruising speed of 180 mph, a cruising altitude of 1,000-2,000 feet, and a range of up to 60 miles, making it ideal for urban areas. Unlike many eVTOL craft, it's also backed by the mass production know-how of Hyundai, giving it a better chance than most to actually make it from the convention hall to the skies.
