Inchlonaig Island
Spanning 182 acres, Inchlonaig is a historic island in Loch Lomond with ties to Robert the Bruce. The former Robert the Bruce is said to have planted the 800 yews covering the property in the 14th century. The ancient trees made longbows for the royal archers for the Battle of Bannockburn. Since then, the island has served as a cattle pasture, and Sir John Colquhoun of Luss created a deer park; many of which still inhabit the island today. Aside from the wildlife, there's a two-bedroom cottage, three derelict buildings, and a jetty to launch and land boats. Architectural drawings to re-develop the sites are available with purchase.
