Kalmar Porsche Rally Adventures
Five countries in 19 days, all behind the wheel of a safari-prepped Porsche. Founded by Danish adventurer Jan Kalmar in 2007, Kalmar is offering those among us with less than professional driving skills the opportunity to live out our Dakar dreams — with far better accommodations. The trip covers more than 3,400 miles through five African countries and nearly every biome the continent has to offer: deserts, savannahs, mountains, and wide open grasslands in Nambia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Angola, and side trips through Lapland and Morocco. Kalmar himself will head up the adventure, with a professional crew of mechanics and specialists to see drivers through. When the day's run is complete, nights will be spent at luxury hotels along the route. Everything from classic 911s to Porsche SUVs will be available, each one prepped with racing-spec equipment like roll cages. Only 14 slots are available for the trip, which runs from June 1st to the 19th.
