Keith Haring Tribeca Loft
Before it was filled with luxury condominiums, the historic American Thread Building was home to a student gallery for the School of Visual Arts. While attending, artist Keith Haring created a large mural for an exhibit in 1979. Over 40 years later and the artwork remains as the centerpiece of this Tribeca triplex. The piece is in the entrance on the main level of the 8,000-square-foot loft, just before you walk into a spacious living room. Its towering, 25-foot ceilings are on cast-iron columns while a wall of 24-foot arched windows floods the interior with natural light. A stainless steel staircase leads to an upper-level mezzanine with a library, master suite, and an additional bedroom, and on the lower story, there's a media room, gym, office, a climate-controlled wine cellar, and a guest room. Also, residents of the building have access to a 24-hour doorman, gym, and a private roof deck.
