Kew House
Rising up behind a 19th-century stable wall, the Kew House does a standout job of joining the old with the new. The home is comprised of two prefabricated volumes that are joined by glass-enclosed stairways and platforms. Weathered steel cladding helps tie the exteriors in with the existing brick structures, while the bright interior is dominated by light-colored wood flooring, white walls, and oak cabinetry. The layout helps form a private rear courtyard, and keeps separate the social areas from the more private bedrooms.
