Kid Cudi's Debut Art Exhibition
Grammy-winning musician Kid Cudi picked up a paintbrush for the first time just over a year ago, and the result is now on view at Ruttkowski;68 in Paris's Le Marais. His debut solo exhibition under his given name, Scotty Ramon, titled "Echoes of the Past," marks a new chapter in a career that has never stayed in one lane. The 10-canvas show centers on Max, a baggy-denim-clad alter ego navigating demons, shadows, and hard-won freedom across acrylic works that pair cheerful palettes with heavy emotional terrain, the same push-and-pull that defined his music and, for Ramon, has made painting as much therapy as creative outlet. He completed more than 50 works in his first year alone in a warehouse studio, reconnecting with a childhood dream of becoming a cartoonist. The show also includes Versus, a four-foot fiberglass sculpture inspired by KAWS's Companion figures, and an original 10-minute score that loops throughout the gallery.
