Lacuna House
Situated on 100 acres in Ontario, the Lacuna House is a harmonious merging of agrarian and modern design. It overlooks the Georgian Bay and is surrounded by boulders and rock formations. Inspired by the natural landscape, the exterior facade combines limestone, charred wood, and blackened steel, while its gabled silhouette borrows from vernacular architecture. The natural tones and texture continue on the interior, where dolomite stone slabs, walnut and charcoal-stained oak cabinetry, and wide plank white oak floors give living spaces a rustic warmth. An adjacent barn-line structure serves as a multi-use space for intimate gatherings around a wood-burning stove.
