Lagerfeld's Louis Vuitton Breakfast Cabine
LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault commissioned this bespoke Louis Vuitton case as a personal gift for Karl Lagerfeld, the late creative director of Chanel and Fendi. Built around Lagerfeld's very specific morning ritual, the custom trunk houses an electric toaster, table linens, cutlery, and a crystal thermos. Everything Lagerfeld needed to travel with his preferred Harrys sandwich bread and toast it wherever he landed. Now the piece has surfaced on Pharrell Williams' auction house as part of a collection of objects gifted by Lagerfeld to his bodyguard and closest confidant for almost 20 years.
