Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept
2024 has already seen LG announce a transparent TV. Now Lenovo is bringing the idea to the computing space with its ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept. Very much still a work in progress, it's filled with futuristic features of dubious practicality. Those include the 17.3-inch Micro-LED display, which is 55% transparent when the pixels are set to black (and thus off) and fully opaque when white. A camera on the rear of the chassis uses AI to identify objects behind the screen, displaying related information on the screen even while the object remains visible. Then there's the keyboard, which is touch-sensitive and doubles as a drawing pad when used with a supported stylus. Labeled a proof of concept, it's likely to be quite some time before we see similar tech arrive in a shipping product.
