Mattel Brick Shop X Hot Wheels Building Sets
Mattel's new Brick Shop brand is aiming to be a LEGO competitor, and its first building sets, part of a collaboration with Hot Wheels, cement that fact. Three series of sets will be available, including the Speed Series, featuring cars like a Maserati MC20 with butterfly doors and a visible motor. Up a notch is the Elite Series, which includes a 1990 Acura NSX with pop-up headlights, functional steering, and swappable license plates; topping the line is the Premium Series, which launches with the legendary Gullwing in 1:12 scale with opening doors, a metal Mercedes-Benz crest, and luxe interior detailing. Each set features accurate details and proportions, customization options, and includes real metal parts and a 1:64th scale matching die-cast; the first sets are available for pre-order now and will hit shelves this summer.
