Meshika 'Love Kills' Hat

Legendary hatmaker Alberto Hernandez grew up in Guanajuato, Mexico, where his father and grandfather made cowboy hats and sombreros charros by hand. He emigrated to Los Angeles to apprentice making props for Hollywood films. When he started his own company, Hernandez named it Meshika, the Nahuatl word the Aztec people used to reference themselves. He became known for his labor-intensive process: distressing hats with paint and fire and hand-blocking each one to its owner's head. The results earned him a client list that runs from Pharrell to LeBron James. The "Love Kills" hat is a sable rabbit-felt fedora with a hand-stitched crown detail and a leather band. The name is a reference to a Bukowski quote: "Find what you love and let it kill you." Laser branding marks the left side of the crown, and "LOVE KILLS" is burned into the underside of the brim where only you'll see it. Hernandez's registered Lanza rises from the left side. Made to order in any size, built to last a lifetime.
