The effects of having massive amounts of wealth and power concentrated among a select few tech overlords have certainly been a recent topic of discussion. Succession creator Jesse Armstrong explores the dynamic through the lens of a worldwide crisis in Mountainhead. The HBO Original film stars Steve Carell, Jason Schwartzman, Cory Michael Smith, and Ramy Youssef as four billionaire friends who get together at a snowy mountain retreat, only to see the outside world begin to crumble as they ride snowmobiles, play poker, and rib each other about who might be responsible for the global meltdown none of them seem particularly concerned about. Mountainhead premieres May 31 on Max.
