Mozi
Twitter and Medium co-founder Ev Williams knows a few things about social media. He's now back with Mozi, a private social network — note the lack of the word "media" — meant to facilitate IRL meetings with people you already know. Using your phone contacts, it creates a private friend list. As they, and you, add plans, it sends notifications if you're going to be in the same place at the same time, allowing you to catch up over coffee, dinner, or drinks. Unlike most social apps, it's built as a utility, with no built-in messaging, video, or photo posting. More social, less media — sounds like a good thing. It launches on iPhone today, with plans for an Android app down the line.
