Nautilus Underwater Power Drill
There are a number of issues with current underwater power tools. The Nautilus Underwater Power Drill addresses nearly all of them. Foremost among its innovations is an impeller and channel running around the motor at the top of the device, sucking away debris that can seriously hamper visibility. That same system helps keep the motor cool, preventing overheating. And since conventional compressed air tubes restrict movement, it relies on battery power: specifically, standard AA batteries, with small induction coils used to transfer the power than thus prevent any potential rusting of open contacts. Created for a technical design class by Alexander Kaula, it's unknown if the concept will be picked up for production.
