Not a Hotel Tokyo

NOT A HOTEL works with iconic figures across all creative mediums to create one-of-a-kind residences in in-demand locales. For their first residence in the Tokyo area, they tapped Japanese creative director NIGO, known for serving as the artistic director of KENZO, DJing, collaborating with Pharell and Louis Vuitton, among others, and founding streetwear brands BAPE and HUMAN MADE. For his NOT A HOTEL, guests stay in a modern house accessible only via a private tunnel built into a cliff overlooking Tokyo Bay, with a world-class view of Mt. Fuji from the grand room's floor-to-ceiling windows. And while the landscape is a lot to take in, so is the interior — pieces from NIGO's art collection adorn the walls and the attached garden, while vintage furniture by designers Jean Prouvé and Pierre Jeanneret occupy each room. Featuring a dining room with seats for 12, multiple bedrooms and custom sleeping pods, a listening room designed by OJAS, a pool, a sauna, a gym, a wooden Japanese bath, and a tea room, guests have plenty to keep them busy inside, but Tokyo station is only an hour away, too.
