Nvidia GeForce Now Gaming Service
It's far from the first streaming gaming service, but Nvidia's long-awaited GeForce Now is the first to work with existing games. Instead of re-purchasing or buying games, customers will have access to cloud-based copies of major titles from Steam, the Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Uplay, running on ray-tracing-capable RTX Server graphics cards. The company claims 80 percent of broadband homes are close enough to their nine data centers for ~20 millisecond response times, with a 50 Mbps connection required for the best experience. The service is free to play for up to an hour at a time, with a potential waitlist for access, while the $5/month Founders membership offers priority access and sessions lasting up to six hours each; the service is currently available on PC, Mac, Shield, and Android devices.
