Ocean Builders SeaPod
About 71% of the Earth's surface is water. Ocean Builders aims to take advantage of that unused real estate with its SeaPod. The Panama-based company has designed a floating home that borrows from Icebergs for buoyancy. Each circular volume is mounted on 1,688 cubic feet of air-filled steel tubes, pushing the SeaPod up eight feet above the water's surface. Inside, the three-story aquatic abode offers 830 square feet of living space and includes a lounge area, primary bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and storage area, while expansive glazing and a patio take advantage of the waterfront views. Owners can control everything through custom software and a smart ring. Available in three models, Ocean Builders will begin taking orders in September, with delivery slated for the end of 2023.
