PerryGolf British Isles & The Open Golf Cruise
At Royal Birkdale in 1961, Arnold Palmer's win included one of the greatest shots in Open history. A 6-iron hit from behind a bush that was so improbable and impressive that the club later marked that spot with a plaque. This July, Birkdale returns for the 154th Open, and PerryGolf has built a 13-night cruise around playing the same courses that have defined the game, with The Open as the finish. Departing Dublin aboard Azamara Quest, the itinerary covers 9 ports across Ireland, Wales, England, and Scotland. Two golf itineraries, named after Palmer and Lee Trevino, put six rounds on your card. The Arnold Palmer itinerary hits Royal County Down, Trump Turnberry's Ailsa Course, Royal Dornoch, Dumbarnie Links, and Gleneagles PGA Centenary, while the Lee Trevino itinerary plays Royal Portrush, Prestwick (where the first Open was held in 1860), Cabot Highlands Castle Stuart, and Kingsbarns. All rounds are walking with caddies included. Weekend attendance covers Saturday and Sunday rounds at Royal Birkdale. Overnights in Dublin, Liverpool, and Edinburgh round out the trip. This is how you build a vacation around golf.
