Porsche 917 Le Mans Slot Car Track
As if a 24 Hours of Le Mans-inspired lot car track isn't impressive enough, Slot Mods goes the extra mile and houses inside an actual race car. The intricate raceway measures 13 feet long by 6 feet wide and features a dual-slot track constructed from wood. It replicates the famous endurance race featured in the 1971 Steve McQueen film Le Mans with hand-painted details, including track surfaces, structures, period-correct signs, landscaping, and spectators. No detail is overlooked, from the trackside lighting, Armco-style railings, and grandstands down to the pit area with crew stations, covered workshops, and fenced car storage. Even more impressive is its storage unit. The track sits inside a replica Porsche 917 race car, donning the same blue-and-orange Gulf livery as the one McQueen drove in the movie. Its clamshell design opens and closes via a remote control to reveal the track inside and look like an actual race car when not in use.
