Pumpkin Island
Located along Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Pumpkin Island offers an opportunity to purchase a turnkey eco-resort. Scattered across the roughly 15-acre island are five guest cottages with accommodations for up to 34 people, as well as two oceanfront bungalows with a game room and library, a licensed bar/lounge, a manager's cottage, a playground, and a two-story lookout. The resort was named Australia's most sustainable hotel in 2018 and currently offsets 150% of its greenhouse gas emissions. Rockhampton is easily reached by boat — the island has two moorings — or by helicopter from the landing pad, while Great Keppel island is only 20 minutes by boat, as well. The lease runs until 2046, and an optional oyster lease is also available.
