Quad ESL 2912X Speakers

In 1957, Quad founder Peter Walker introduced the world's first full-range electrostatic loudspeaker. That legacy continues with the ESL 2812X and 2912X. The result of a comprehensive review of ESL manufacturing, these speakers use Mylar film panels thinner than a human hair, coated with a high-resistance conductive material, and suspended between two perforated metal panels to reproduce sound. The electronics that control the movement of the panels have been split from a monolithic design into three fully independent modules — a High-Voltage Multiplier, a Control & Protection module, and a Low-Voltage Audio Signal handler — all made with UK-manufactured audio transformers. The result is improved signal dynamics, more detailed sound, particularly in the mid and high-frequency ranges, and an open, airy sound with an exceptionally detailed soundstage. The 2812X is a smaller option for smaller spaces, while the 2912X is larger, for maximum performance; both feature an all-black exterior with LED lighting on the bottom.
