Ressence TYPE 8 Indigo Watch
Ressence incorporates the art of Japanese indigo dying in its Type 8 Indigo watch. The Type 8 Indigo's face is made of a single indigo-dyed thread in an ocean-inspired, undulating pattern. Ressence tapped Buaisou, a specialist from Kamiita-cho, Tokushima Prefecture, to create each thread by hand, from fermenting the leaves to the dyeing process and winding the thread. The Type 8 Indigo uses a 42.9mm grade 5 titanium dial and patented ROCS 8 system that uses rotating discs to mark time. The movement is wound by the caseback, with a 36-hour power reserve. The watch is finished with a grey Saffiano calf leather strap and titanium ardillon buckle. Limited to eight examples, the watch is available now at the Isetan Shinjuku Watch Shop in Tokyo, Japan.
