ROC Nuclear Bunker
Following WWII, the threat of nuclear war loomed large for many countries. The UK was no exception, and in the 1950s, the Royal Observer Corps built a series of bunkers designed to accommodate three observers who would report on the post-attack fallout if such an event occurred. Most decommissioned sites were sold to telecom companies in the 1990s and used as cell tower locations. This one, located in Sedbergh, Cumbria, was not. It remains in its original condition, secure, dry, refurbished, and ready for a new owner. In addition to the bunker itself, the current owner added a storage shed to the site; it also has a broadband-capable landline hookup, gated access, and secure off-road parking.
