Seattle Ultrasonics C-200 Chef's Knife
Most chefs know that dull knives are more dangerous than sharp ones, due to the added force necessary to use them. The world's first ultrasonic chef's knife, the C-200 from Seattle Ultrasonics, has a blade that vibrates over 40,000 times per second, reducing cutting effort by up to 50%. As a result, the knife feels almost nonstick, as the vibrations — created by PZT-8 piezoelectric ceramic crystals — keep food from clinging to the blade. The vibrations can't be seen or felt, and when not in use, the knife is still completely functional, with an 8" blade made from three-layer Japanese AUS-10 steel, hardened to 60HRC for durability. It recharges via USB-C or an optional wireless charging pad, offers IP65 water resistance, and as an added bonus, the vibrations can be used on fruit to atomize their juices, perfect for finishing cocktails.
