Snowbot S1 Snow Blower Robot
Work smarter, not harder — or design a robot to do the work instead. Hanyang Robotics' Snowbot S1 is an autonomous snowblower that can clear drifts up to 12 inches deep, similar to manual snowblowers. A powerful brushless DC motor throws snow up to 16.5 feet away, keeping paths clear without redepositing powder over previously cleared areas. The selling point is the autonomous operation, which is set up simply by placing three beacons around the area to be cleared. The companion app generates a rectangular area, with future over-the-air updates adding more shapes for more specific areas. A LIDAR system allows the Snowbot to avoid obstacles, with an operating speed of up to 1.3 feet per second. The Snowbot can go for 1.5 hours per charge, with an area of 1,500 square feet. Interested parties can sign up for a public beta test through the Snowbot website.
