Solidwool Hembury Chair
Inspired by a declining industry in their native Buckfastleigh, designers Hannah and Justin Floyd are recreating the Eames Molded Fiberglass Chair with an eco-friendly twist. The Solidwool Hembury Chair replaces the iconic fiberglass seat with a wool composite, while keeping the integrity of the mid-century design intact. The process swaps glass for wool from a Herdwick sheep as the binder and mixes it with an environmentally conscientious bio-resin to form a hard surface. Light grey guard hairs blend into the naturally dark wool to create a marbled finish. The chair is completed with a black powder coated steel frame and ash wood legs.
