Sonos Ray Soundbar
Not everyone wants or needs a giant speaker sitting underneath their TV, yet nearly every TV could benefit from external speakers. Sonos is aiming for the middle ground with the Ray. It leaves out high-end features like Dolby Atmos and ARC/HDMI, instead opting for Dolby Digital over an optical connection. Yet its limitations are also a strength; since the two waveguide tweeters and mid woofers face forward, it can live happily in a cabinet or media stand where units with drivers aimed in every direction would suffer. As a Sonos product, it also integrates easily into whole-home audio systems, and can be expanded to a full surround-sound system using extra Sonos speakers.
