Steam Frame VR Headset

Alongside the new Steam Machine, Valve recently announced the Steam Frame, a streaming-focused VR headset. While built for wirelessly streaming from a more powerful PC — a dongle to attach to the latter is included — it's powered by a Snapdragon 8 Series processor with 16GB of RAM, so it can run lightweight games on its own. Among its numerous sensors — including four high-resolution monochrome cameras to provide controller and headset tracking — it has two inward-facing cameras that track eye movement, making the image quality where the eye is looking more pronounced. Other features include 2160 x 2160 LCD panels for each eye, support for 144 Hz, dual speakers on either side of the headband, and up to 1TB of storage with a microSD card slot for expansion. It ships with two controllers offering capacitive finger tracking and all the buttons necessary for non-VR games. The Steam Frame will launch in early 2026.
