Elysium Chair
"Sleeping on a cloud" is a long-used mattress cliche. The Elysium Chair might actually deliver, no bed required. It was developed by Dr. David Wickett, a British inventor and designer who spent ten years studying the relationship between posture and gravitational force, earning a PhD in bioengineering along the way. As a result, it has a carbon fiber skeleton, with springs fused at precise locations and tensions and a series of foams to offer an unrivaled level of support and pressure relief. The seat is then mounted on a virtual cam that makes reclining completely effortless, providing a weightless experience at a 25% recline no other chair can provide. Handmade in Cambridge and limited to just 20 units.
