T-Rex Leather Bag by Enfin Levé
Sixty-six million years after the last T.rex walked the earth, the species is making its fashion debut. The world's first product made from lab-grown T-Rex Leather is a one-of-a-kind handbag designed by Berlin techwear label Enfin Levé, built from a material engineered by VML, The Organoid Company, and Lab-Grown Leather Ltd. using reconstructed T.rex collagen sequences recovered from fossilized bone. AI modeling and computational biology filled in the genetic gaps, with the resulting blueprint synthesized and cultivated into a scaffold-free material its creators say is structurally identical to conventional leather: biodegradable, repairable, and produced without animal slaughter. Not everyone in the paleontology community agrees the material qualifies as genuine T-Rex leather. The bag itself is a deep teal angular silhouette with three claw-mark incisions, sterling silver hardware, black diamonds, a lining of WWII British pilot cotton, and a Shindo nylon strap from Japan. On display at Amsterdam's Art Zoo Museum beside a life-sized T.rex cast for a limited time, then it goes to the highest bidder.
