TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana
Run for only five years in the 1950s, the original Carrera Panamericana was a grueling cross-country race in Mexico and served as the namesake for the first Heuer Carrera chronograph. A Porsche 550 Spyder won its class in the 1954 edition of the oft-deadly race and now serves as the inspiration for the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana. The watch is filled with homages to that winning 550, including the silver skeleton dial, which resembles its wheels, and the silver, yellow, and black color scheme, which mirrors its livery. Yellow chrono seconds and subdial hands float above asphalt-textured subdials and are surrounded by a curved black flange. The latter is adorned with the Porsche logo and covered by a domed sapphire Glassbox crystal attached to the 42mm stainless steel case. It's powered by a TH20-09 in-house tourbillon movement, visible through the dial and exhibition caseback, and sits on a black perforated calfskin leather strap with yellow lining and stitching. Limited to 255 examples, honoring the "55" number of the class-winning Porsche.
